Harp
Lessons:
Private weekly lessons for both Lever and Pedal harp are
offered here at Harp Haven. Lessons are designed with the
individual student in mind, for all ages and skill groups.
Adults are often too reluctant to start lessons fearing
that they are too old, however, they are usually very pleased
at the progress made and the enjoyment from doing something
they've always wanted to do. A variety of music is encouraged
to develop versatility and unique repertoire. Students who
are interested in performing will prepare for informal parties
and weddings and will be referred to appropriate jobs when
their ability reaches an acceptable level.

Piano
Lessons:
We are
very excited at Harp Haven, to be bringing on Mark Abel as
our primary piano instructor. Mark has been teaching all
levels of piano for over 9 years. His students have
performed recitals and participated in group workshops. Many
have also taken part in the National Federation of Music
Clubs’ Junior Recital. Mark himself has studied piano for 25
years, participating in the National Guild Piano Auditions,
performing concerts, recitals, and receiving numerous
scholarships, recognitions and awards for both performance
and composition. Mark has worked as professional classical
pianist for hotel lobbies, cocktail parties, receptions,
weddings, tea services and dining rooms. While aquiring his
B.A. in Music from Westminster College, Mark’s compositions
were performed by both the Westminster College Choir and the
De Capo Ensemble. His original works include Sonatas,
Sonatinas, Themes and Variations, Quartets, Trios, Violin
and Vocal Duets and Solos, Nocturnes, Inventions, Etudes,
Preludes, 1 Mass, 2 Piano Concertos, and
Arrangements of Back 4-part Chorales.

Lessons:
Experience in Germany, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, England, Canada,and France vocal performance, 17 years of quality vocal training, 4 years of New York Metropolitan training, BME in Vocal Music Education from Bowling Green State University, Kindermusik certified, Orff Schulwerk certified, Ohio and California teaching credentials current
Kristi Dawn Kommel has the experience, training, and certification to teach any where in the world. She enjoys teaching others how to use their vocal instrument. Her training is in voice and choral directing with world-renowned singers. She is not a piano player that gives voice lessons - she's a trained singing machine that loves to share with others who want to grow and learn more about their own voice.

Summer
Program:
For our young students a summer program is available, the
"Children's Music Olympics," that is designed
to keep the student playing throughout the Summer and not
experience the common setbacks from missing three months
of lessons. Music Olympics begins in May and finalizes at
the end of August with a festive Recital for all Harp and
Piano students. Certificates and Olympic style awards are
given along with applause for a great achievement.
